1. What do you want sent with my query?
A query letter, your Synopsis and 1st 3 chapters
(double-spaced). Please send the
synopsis and chapters as Word attachments.
Please note at this time we are NOT accepting screenplays, scripts, or poetry.
ONLY novels.
2. How soon will you reply to my initial query?
We will confirm receipt within 48 hours.
We will respond within one month to your query.
3. Why do you request my manuscript be edited by someone before
submitting?
It is very difficult for an author to edit his/her
own work. The author will tend to see what they think they wrote,
instead of what they actually wrote. A fresh set of eyes will see past
that. Plus you need to have someone other than yourself having read
your work to give you feedback. We spend a lot of time working with each of our authors to do
more editing of the manuscript. We don't have time to do the initial
editing as well.
4. How should my manuscript be formatted?
Double spaced with 1" margins. Every chapter
should start on a separate page. You need to have a header on each
page with the name of the manuscript, your last name and the page number.
5. How much commission do you charge?
We charge the standard 15% commission.
